eighteenth fault; video

[ The feed opens on a tabletop in a restaurant, where Miyuki sits with what might actually be the world's largest cheeseburger. She's alone, but seems to be in relatively good spirits, especially considering what she says next. ]

Got knocked out in the quarterfinals by Mister Harvey. [ Look, she remembers your name. ] That means you'd better win the tourney, dude. I don't lose to losers.

Oh, and if any of you dudes were gonna get me Christmas presents, I'm gonna need warm clothes. My winter stuff from last year is, like, way too small now. [ This girl just keeps getting taller. ] And I'm gonna be traveling again after Christmas, I think. Maybe.

I kinda wanna get a house, but I'm only eleven? [ Or twelve, but the real estate agencies don't make much of a distinction between the two. ] Who around here has, like, a real house, anyway? Like, how much does it cost, or whatever?

[ She reaches for the 'Gear and picks it up, then stops, brightening. ]

Oh, yeah! I'm thinking about doing Old Man Surge's survival camp thingie. Anyone ever done that? Is it, like, super brutal? I figure a girl's gotta be able to take care of herself, if she's gonna be traveling alone sometimes. Tell me something good, dudes.

[ The feed clicks off on her grin. ]

It's actually really scary how cheap renting a house here is. All things considered, if you're staying somewhere for an entire month, it's definitely going to be cheaper to rent a house then actually rent out a hotel room every night. This was a rather shocking and wallet strengthening revelation when I discovered it!

... ah, but... I never took part in the survival camp, but while I was there traveling... It looked pretty intense. Like, "Run until you can't run anymore" intense.

For real? You must really be the outdoorsy type then, huh?

Ehh... Even if I ever fell behind on my nightly routine, I doubt I'd ever want to put myself through a regime like that... Building up slowly has worked pretty well for me.

... yeah, those are definitely the traits of a outdoorsy type!

Oh, really? Well... It takes all types! I've done intense training every night since I was six, so I don't really think any kind of sudden regime would be of any use to me personally.

... eh? No, um... It was more... I just wanted to get stronger, that's all. To make up for how I wasn't? *Since wanting to be strong at six due to traumatic things is totally normal.*

--eh? You do? That's... unexpected... Usually I get the "What could you possibly have to get strong for at that age?!" reaction...

*Damn yo. He can sense that determination all the way from here!*

Wow... I never knew tennis was that fierce of a sport... If you're that determined though, I'm sure you'll develop the skills! You might even be able to look back on all the training and laugh at how much you did!
