[ Miyuki clicks the feed on herself, considerably more cheerful than the last time the network saw her. She's sitting on a couch in the Otherhouse, shoulder-to-shoulder with Sakura, each of them clutching mugs of hot cocoa topped with liberal whipped cream. ]

This hot cocoa is, like, twenty percent better than any other hot cocoa ever. Wanna know why?

[ Sakura giggles in the background. ] It's victory cocoa!

Yep! [ The camera is jogged slightly, then Miyuki holds up a gleaming Plain badge. ] Soloed it! Godzilla-bro went as easy as he could, but that chick still cried, like... a lot. [ She looks exasperated. ]

I still think you could've been a little nicer to her, Miyuki-chan.

Hey, I said I was sorry for kicking her butt! Anyway, we'll probably go to Azalea soon, but I don't know how hard it'll be to get through that forest in this weather and whatever. Any advice?

When she straightens up and corrals her giggles (mostly), she actually has to wipe at her eyes... and then she can't look at him; she's smiling at the ground, and it's not altogether a happy smile. Her voice is quiet. ]

[His frown deepens, and deepens--but then she does that, and he's suddenly not sure what to do, what to say.]

Hey, uh, don't--I'm sorry...?

[APOLOGIES ALWAYS WORK EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T KNOW WHY.]

[ She shakes her head, waves her hand — swipes at her eyes again, a little frustrated, and takes a deep breath, exhaling with a huff. ]

Just... I guess it's nice to know there's people looking out for me here, too, even... if my mom and dad aren't around, or whatever. [ Her voice wavers a little, but she's staying dry-eyed now. ]

[DON'T NEED TO TELL HIM TWICE. He ducks his head while Miyuki composes herself, giving her...as much 'privacy' as he can, considering.

As she explains, his expression softens.]

[ And now for the most disgusted girl-noise you've ever heard. She rolls her eyes again. ]
