[ Miyuki looks annoyed today. ]

So I got my egg on Valentine's Day, right? And since then, I got two other eggs. [ The camera pans over to a somewhat petite Tauros and a snoozing Slowpoke. ] They hatched already. They both took like a week. But my Valentine's Day egg....

[ She turns the camera to an egg, sitting bundled in a towel. As she continues, it's beginning to shake. ]

... still hasn't hatched. Like, not even a crack! What's up with that? Is it a dud? Am I supposed to eat it or something?

[ A sudden jerk from the egg interrupts her. ] — Whoa!

[ What's this? Why, it's ~*the miracle of life*~. A few small cracks are appearing in the surface above and below the band, and the egg is shaking violently now. ]

Come on, dude... you can do it!

[ One particularly violent twitch sends it toppling over, and it's engulfed in that bright white light that spares us from the less-miraculous portion of the event. ]

Yesss!

[ When the light clears, a wobbly baby Axew makes its way to its feet. ]

Xeeew!

[ Miyuki drops the 'Gear on the couch, leaving an awkwardly angled shot of the Pokémon, and of herself when she comes into view to scoop it up. ]

Cool! Oh, man, you're gonna be so awesome when you grow up!

[ There's a few minutes of this exultant praise before she seems to remember the 'Gear was ever on, and comes to pick it up. The ding and the tinny voice of the Pokédex feature sounds, and then Miyuki whoops. ]

Sweet! Holy crap, you're, like, shiny! [ She turns the camera on herself, grinning. ] Totally just hatched a shiny Axew. Beat that, Johto!

[ OOC; Miyuki and Sakura are staying in the Tennishaus in Goldenrod, as per Yagyuu's invitation. They've only been there since yesterday, so housemates are free to come investigate (if they haven't realized she's there yet) or pester her — she's just in the living room. Yes, her Tauros is grazing on the carpet. ]

It's another one with that weird coloration, huh?

It's shiny, dude! Like, it's a different color than it's supposed to be. It's an Axew, look it up on your 'Gear. They're supposed to be all green.

[ Sakura had been out and about the town, getting some shopping done. But she's back now! Carrying some snacks for Miyuki and herself (and even some for their Pokemon), she comes into the living room and spills them onto the couch. ]

Oh! [ Eyes widening at the shiny Axew. ] Your egg hatched!

Pretty cool, huh?

Cool! You actually caught yours? That's way more exciting. Did it almost get away?

Yeah! Any idea what made him shiny?

Dunno, but I think it's awesome.

[ Axe-bro herself immediately moves from the floor to the couch to examine these new wares. Miyuki grins at Sakura. ]

Yeah. Super-cool, right?

Nope! Just luck, I guess! I don't think it was anything I did, since I hatched my Tauros and Slowpoke eggs the same way, and they're not shiny.

So any egg could turn out shiny?

[Rikku looks at her Gible egg]

Are shiny Pokémon rare?

Yeah, I guess so. They are pretty rare, though.

Why, you got an egg?

Two--a Gible and a Vulpix.

[She pans to where her Pidgey is protecting the eggs]

A Gible? [ Her 'Dex dings in the background. ]

... Huh. Cool! Dragon-types are pretty awesome.

I asked the nurse in Cherrygrove what she suggested, and she said Gible. What're Dragon-types like?

[ A bright grin. ] Really cool! Have you named it yet?

[ Axe-bro picks up a bag of chips and hops off the couch again, headed around the coffee table. ]

Mostly they kick butt. They're weak against Ice and other Dragon-types, though. But they almost all look really cool.

Where'd you get the Gible?

Sparkly snot? Sounds dumb. I bet it evolves into a big, awesome bear, though. Sakura-chan had a Teddiursa, and it's pretty huge now.

The nurse gave me an ad for a place in Goldenrod that gives out free eggs to newcomers.

Oh, yeah, the Breeding Center or whatever. I got an Eevee egg there when I first showed up. Pretty cool place.

What's an Eevee?

I~ don't know. Having a shiny Pokémon pop out of an egg that wouldn't hatch seems more exciting to me. [A grin. His really wasn't that exciting at all.]

No~pe. Garlic put him to sleep and he was ou~t like a lanturn.

'What's an Eevee?' Dude, how have you not heard of Eevee? They're, like, little fox Pokémon, and they can evolve into like a kabillion different things.

Okay, I take it back. Mine was way more exciting.
